Mt. Everest
This past week we began to work on a study guide for the NYS ILS exam (performance 5/31 & written 6/5-6/6).
My students began to ask some GREAT questions about altitude & mountains, and the relation between altitude and air pressure. They wanted to know why people chose to climb the mountain, how they get all the materials to the peak, how long it would take, etc. I knew I didn’t have all the answers to questions like: ” how many inches taller is the mountain now, than when it’s height was originally documented.” So as usual, I turned to the internet. The first page that popped up was Discovery Channel’s- “Everest: The Experience”. This website has a lot of great ways to “discover” the world’s highest peak! There are interactives, videos, interviews with climbers, a highly interactive & entertaining game From the Razor’s Edge…and much more!
So check out some of my favorite ways to explore Mt. Everest below
