    Respiration is not breathing. Respiration takes place in cells

      Hi Jon, thanks for your response. You are partially correct. Cellular Respiration is the process that takes place in the cells. This is when oxygen & glucose are converted into carbon dioxide, water & usable energy called ATP. However, the life process of Respiration is related to the respiratory system....when we breathe in oxygen and release carbon dioxide. Hope this clarifies things =)
